          Hopkins seeks to nurture students as global citizens possessing 
          the cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity to fully embrace and navigate the larger world.
          Hopkins encourages students to grow as global citizens and has sponsored foreign trips for many years. 国外学年 continues to be an attractive option for students interested in studying abroad for a semester or year.

          Recently Hopkins has sought to cultivate "global neighborhoods" in communities abroad, many of which are New Haven Sister Cities: Amalfi, Italy; Avignon, France; Changsha, China; Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.

            Italian and Latin classes exchange email and video with students at 学园马里尼乔亚 in Amalfi, Italy. The goals of this exchange are to develop language skills, to learn about Italian culture, and to build community.

          • SERVICE LEARNING TRIP TO GUATEMALA




          Each year, students have learned a variety of skills, such as hand mixing cement, painting, building or planting, while working and cultivating friendships with the people they serve.

          Spanish students are encouraged to improve their language skills with the immersive opportunities the trip  offers. Language interpretation is available for students who have no background in Spanish.
